LAFC Signs Matt Evans And Eddy Berumen On Short-Term Loan Agreement From LAFC2

LAFC has signed midfielder Matt Evans and defender Eddy Bremen on a short-term loan agreement from LAFC2 of MLS NEXT Pro. Evans and Berumen will be available for Sunday’s MLS road match against the Houston Dynamo at Shell Energy Stadium - 5:30 p.m. PT on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV (now 50% off); ESPN LA 710 AM, ESPN 980 AM La Mera Mera.

Evans, 18, has scored two goals in 13 appearances for LAFC2 this season. Evans originally joined the LAFC Academy’s U-12 team and made his MLS NEXT Pro debut in 2023. The Simi Valley native has represented both the United States and Guatemala at the youth national team level.

Berumen, 23, joined LAFC2 in June after appearing for the Las Vegas Lights in the USL Championship this season. A standout at UC-Irvine, Berumen was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team in 2019.

Per MLS rules, the short-term agreement allows clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro team for matches. An individual player may be included on up to four MLS league season match rosters each season, however, that player may appear in no more than two MLS league season matches. An individual player may appear in any number of non-league games during his four short-term agreements.
