LAFC2 has signed forward Charlie Kosakoff through 2026 with an option for 2027.
Kosakoff joins LAFC2 after a breakout 2025 in which he helped Ballard FC reach the USL League Two championship match before playing a main role for the University of Washington as the school claimed its first NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer championship.
The all-action forward started 2025 by leading Seattle-based Ballard FC in goals with nine – five of which came across the club’s five playoff matches – and a first-place finish atop the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. In the USL League Two playoffs, he scored the winning goal in the conference final, bagged a pair of strikes in the national semifinal to send Ballard to the championship match, and also scored his side’s lone goal in the title game.
The San Diego native continued his awesome exploits when the college season rolled around, once again leading his team in goals with nine – the majority of which came in the biggest moments of the season. Kosakoff started and played nearly every minute of Washington’s six NCAA Tournament matches. He notched the game-winning assist in the first round on the road at Oregon State and then scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute on the road against Stanford two games later in the Sweet 16.
Kosakoff scored what proved to be the winning goal in a 3-1 win on the road at Maryland to qualify the Huskies for the 2025 College Cup. He did so again in a 3-1 victory against Furman in the national semifinal before providing the assist on the Huskies’ golden goal that earned Washington the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer title.
Prior to his time in Seattle, Kosakoff helped Torrey Pines High School claim a CIF championship and also led his youth club, San Diego Surf, to a Surf Cup championship and an ECNL California championship.
