Coming off a tight 1-0 loss to Houston Dynamo 2 last Sunday, LAFC2 next hosts the Tacoma Defiance at Titan Stadium on Thursday night.
The Black & Gold (1W-1L-1D) suffered its first loss of the season in league play and currently stands eighth in the Western Conference with four points from three matches.
This will be the sixth meeting between LAFC2 and Tacoma with the Black & Gold holding a 1-2-2 record against the Seattle Sounders’ MLS NEXT Pro affiliate. The team's most recent meeting resulted in a 2-1 win for Tacoma last August at Titan Stadium.
Earlier last week, LAFC2 was eliminated from its first official U.S. Open Cup appearance, falling 2-1 in the second round to AV Alta FC (USL League One) in a hard-fought, 120-minute battle in Lancaster, Calif. Midfielders Jude Terry and DeCarlo Guerra, who scored LAFC2's lone goal in the 64th minute, continued to excel for the Black & Gold.
