After a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over the Real Monarchs last Sunday at Titan Stadium, LAFC2 is set to face rival Ventura County FC on Sunday, August 11, at William Rolland Stadium on the California Lutheran University campus.
Luis Müller’s brace secured the win for the Black & Gold (9W-6L-4D), keeping LAFC in sixth place in MLS NEXT Pro’s Western Conference with 33 points from 19 matches played.
MĂĽller has now scored six goals and added two assists this season, trailing only Adrian Wibowo, who leads the squad with eight goals and three assists.
Historically, LAFC2 holds a 3W-1L-1D record against VCFC and remains unbeaten in regulation time in its last four encounters with the Galaxy-affiliated club.
This will be the third matchup between the teams this season. LAFC2 won the first meeting 2-1 in April, and the second ended in a 1-1 draw last month, with VCFC prevailing 6-5 in the penalty shootout, denying LAFC2 the extra point as per MLS NEXT Pro rules.
