LAFC2 came up just short in a high-scoring battle on Sunday night, falling 4-3 to The Town FC at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, CA.
Tommy Mihalic got things rolling early for the Black & Gold, finding the back of the net in the 5th minute with his seventh goal of the season. The Town FC responded in the 28th minute when Nick Fernandez equalized, before Missael Rodríguez gave the visitors a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 38th minute.
Just after the break, Matt Evans brought LAFC2 level again with his fifth goal of the year in the 53rd minute. But The Town FC quickly regained control as Cruz Medina restored the lead in the 63rd minute, and Fernandez completed his brace just two minutes later to make it 4-2.
Mihalic struck again in the 72nd minute, scoring his eighth of the season to cut the deficit to one, but LAFC2 couldn’t find the equalizer in the final stretch.
