LAFC2 defeated Colorado Rapids 2 in a 3-2 thriller on Friday night at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, CA.
Javier Hernandez broke the deadlock in LAFC2's favor with his first goal of the season in the 38th minute. His strike was followed by Adrian Wibowo extending LAFC2's lead to 2-0 with his team-leading sixth goal of the year in the 52nd minute.
Rapids 2 drew level late in the game with two goals in two minutes by Facundo Núñez(85th minute) and Marlon Vargas (86th minute).
But LAFC2 kept its composure and Decarlo Guerra gave the Black & Gold the 3-2 victory with a stoppage-time penalty-kick goal, securing the team's second consecutive victory.
LAFC2 improves to 8W-4L-2D (27 points), and next takes on St. Louis City 2 at CITYPARK on Saturday, July 6. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. PT.
