LAFC2 defeated Whitecaps FC 2, 2-1, on Sunday night at USC’s Rawlinson Stadium.
Vancouver opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Daniel Ittycheria, but the Black & Gold answered with first-half goals from Tommy Mihalić and Sebastian Nava to secure all three points at home.
Whitecaps FC 2 took the lead when Ittycheria headed home in the 13th minute. LAFC2 responded in the 31st minute, as Mihalić finished from the center of the box off an assist from
Charlie Kosakoff. Six minutes later, Nava gave the Black & Gold the lead, finishing from the center of the box after a setup from Jacob Machuca.
LAFC2 spent much of the second half defending that advantage. Vancouver pushed forward and finished with 18 shots and eight corners, but LAFC2 held firm. Thomas Hasal made four saves, and late blocks from Luke Goodman helped preserve the result.
