LAFC2 was defeated 4-3 by St. Louis CITY2 on Saturday evening at CITYPARK in St. Louis.
Javier Hernandez netted his second goal in as many games to put the Black & Gold ahead in the 19th minute.
CITY2 responded with four unanswered goals from Matteo Kidd (30th minute), Mykhi Joyner (47th and 66th minutes), and Brendan McSorley (61st minute).
Despite a late surge that saw Christopher Jaime (89th minute) and Tamir Ratoviz (90th+4 minute) find the back of the net, the Black & Gold couldn't complete the comeback, ending a two-game winning streak.
LAFC2 is now 8W-5L-2D (27 points), and next takes on Ventura County FC at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, CA, on Sunday, July 14. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. PT.
