LAFC2 fell 5-3 to Portland Timbers2 on Sunday afternoon at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon.
The Black & Gold struck first, racing out to a 2-0 advantage behind early goals from Adam Saldaña in the 10th minute and DeCarlo Guerra in the 16th minute.
Portland responded with five unanswered goals, as Gage Guerra (26’, 72’) and Daniel Núñez (53’, 74’) tallied twice each, while Ian Smith added another in the 64th minute.
Matt Evans pulled one back for LAFC2 in the 76th minute, but the Timbers closed out the match to secure the result.
The Black & Gold drops to 9W-13L-3D (32 points), and next takes on Real Monarchs at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, Calif., on Friday, September 19. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT and the match can be streamed on Apple TV – MLS Season Pass.
