LAFC2 earned a 3-2 comeback win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Friday night at Swangard Stadium. After falling behind in the eighth minute, the Black & Gold answered three times, including an 87th-minute winner from Nathan Mardaresco, to leave British Columbia with all three points.
Vancouver opened the scoring through Liam Mackenzie in the eighth minute, but LAFC2 responded in the 23rd when Tommy Mihalić cut in from the left and finished to level the match at 1-1. The hosts regained the lead two minutes later on an own goal, sending LAFC2 into halftime trailing 2-1.
LAFC2 found its way back into the match in the 56th minute on a left-footed finish by Jacob Machuca to make it 2-2, and the Black & Gold continued to push the game from there. The decisive moment came in the 87th minute, when Mardaresco converted from close range off an assist from Gavin Zambrano to seal the 3-2 result.
The Black & Gold carried much of the play on the night, finishing with 64 percent possession, 16 total shots, seven shots on target, and six corners in an assertive road performance.
The result gave LAFC2 a deserved road win after the group continued to press for chances throughout the second half. Cabral Carter made four saves, while the Black & Gold showed composure after twice trailing away from home.
After five straight road games to start the 2026 campaign, LAFC2 returns home to host Timbers2 on April 11 at USC’s Rawlinson Stadium.
