LAFC2 suffered a 5-1 defeat to The Town FC on Sunday evening at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif.
The hosts were ahead 1-0 early in the second half when LAFC2 was reduced to 10 men due to a red card shown to Christian Diaz. Despite playing down a man, LAFC2 scored in the 68th minute through Panama international Érick Díaz, who tallied his first goal in an LAFC2 uniform. The four goals The Town FC scored following the red card, however, proved too much to overcome.
The Black & Gold falls to 2W-2L-2D (9 points), and next takes on Colorado Rapids 2 at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, Calif., on Sunday, May 4. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. PT.
