The Los Angeles Football Club and Golden Boot Club Partner Ford will celebrate the Club’s 2023 Season of Giving with a full month of community service. Throughout November and December, LAFC and Ford will continue to be a ‘Force for Good’, hosting events and volunteer opportunities including a Thanksgiving dinner, holiday shopping spree, and a new fundraising campaign to help bring the holiday spirit to thousands of families throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
LAFC and Ford kick off the Season of Giving this weekend as LAFC will participate in Magic Johnson’s Holiday Hope event hosted by LAFC Co-Owner Earvin “Magic” Johnson on Saturday, November 18 to provide food, household essentials, toys, and gifts for numerous families in L.A.
On Sunday, November 19 the Club will host a Thanksgiving dinner at BMO Stadium for families and young adults from Covenant House, Aviva Family and Children's Services, and Union Rescue Mission. Activity plans feature, cookie decorating, friendship bracelet-making, caricature creations, and a photo booth.
The Season of Giving continues on Saturday, December 16, with a holiday shopping spree at the Mattel toy tent in El Segundo in partnership with Ford. Children from Los Angeles-based non-profit Athletes in the Making will have the opportunity to take home a variety of toys of their choice, courtesy of Ford. Three ‘Power Wheels Ford Raptor’ trucks will also be generously donated by Mattel.
Starting in December 2023, fans will have the ability to add a donation to any concessions purchased at BMO Stadium for various BMO Stadium events through 2024. Ford has committed to match the total number of funds up to $10,000 raised through point-of-sale donations at BMO Stadium.
In addition, the LAFC Foundation will be hosting a silent auction kicking off Black Friday, November 24 (LAFC Black Friday Silent Auction) that will include Ilie Sanchez’s game-worn jersey and cleats from the 2022 MLS Cup Finals.
