LAFC today announced that KCOP 13 will return as the Club’s primary English Language Broadcast TV Partner for the 2022 season, beginning with the first broadcast on Sunday, March 20 vs. Vancouver at 7:00 p.m. PT.
All 18 LAFC matches not airing exclusively on a national platform will air on KCOP 13 in English, as well as in Spanish on Estrella TV KRCA-62.
“This is another exciting moment for our Club,” LAFC Co-President & CBO Larry Freedman said. “KCOP 13 is a trusted institution in Southern California, and the comprehensive coverage that KCOP 13 provides will make our games more accessible than ever before in Southern California.”
For the fifth straight season, LAFC matches will continue to feature Lead Broadcaster Max Bretos joined on the call by a different, nationally recognized soccer personality each game. The “Max +1” platform will give viewers an innovative and unique perspective to the broadcast with rotating color analysts including former U.S. National Team defender Heath Pearce, former U.S. National Team midfielder and FOX Sports analyst Mo Edu, former England National Team member and Fox analyst Warren Barton, among others.
“We at KCOP are both proud and excited to be bringing LAFC matches to Southern California again this year,” KTTV FOX11 / KCOP13 SVP & General Manager Bill Lamb said. “We can hardly wait for March 20th!”
The LAFC pre and post-game show will air 30 minutes prior to and immediately following all matches on KCOP 13, with Mark Rogondino serving as the host. A native of Southern California, Rogondino is an accomplished broadcaster with over 20 years calling soccer and is also a sports anchor for L.A.’s FOX 11. A former San Diego State University goalkeeper, “Rogo” has covered a variety of local and professional sports, including the NHL, NBA, Arena Football and high school football.
