The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today the loan of midfielder James Murphy to the Las Vegas Lights FC of the United Soccer League (USL). The Scotch Plains, N.J., native is eligible to play for Lights FC immediately.
Murphy made his LAFC debut on May 22 in a friendly against visiting Borussia Dortmund of Germany’s Bundesliga.
Murphy is the second loan of the Club’s inaugural season, as LAFC midfielder Nico Czornamaz is currently on loan to USL affiliate, Orange County Soccer Club.
LAFC returns to MLS regular season action this Saturday, June 23, hosting Columbus Crew SC at Banc of California Stadium at 7:30 p.m. PT (YouTube TV, Unimas, ESPN LA 710 AM, 980 AM).
