The reigning MLS Cup Champions, the Los Angeles Football Club today released its newest Club anthem, “Ciudad De Campeones”. A Mexican corrido-inspired song, “Ciudad De Campeones” features vocals from Mexican rapper Alemán, Cypress Hill’s B-Real, and Los Angeles artist and LAFC Original Bobby Castro. The anthem is produced by Grammy-nominated producer DJ Flict.
“LAFC is taking over the city,” said Alemán. “I want to be a part of this movement and this culture. The first time I heard the hook, I wanted to be a part of this project.”
“Música Mexicana has arrived on the global music scene,” LAFC Chief Brand Officer Rich Orosco said. “We are proud to be the first sports team in the United States to launch a Mexican corrido-inspired anthem. We know our fans will love it. Turn your speakers up for this one.”
This is the fifth LAFC Club anthem co-produced by the team, joining “My Home” by Stix (2019), “Reppin The City” featuring DJ Flict, Cypress Hill and Shavo (2022), “Do It For LA” featuring DJ Flict, Kid Ink and B-Real (2022), and the “Do It For LA” Remix featuring DJ Flict, Kid Ink, B-Real, and D Smoke (2023).
“We created this song to become a mainstream hit.,” said DJ Flict. “We have an artist dream team with Bobby, B-Real, and Alemán. This song was born in the LAFC community, but it’s for everyone.”
All the artists featured in the anthem are LAFC supporters and attend games regularly at BMO Stadium.
“LA is about winning. And the hustle. I’m happy to be a part of another LAFC anthem that celebrates the Black & Gold. These are my people,” said B-Real about the new anthem.
“Ciudad De Campeones” perfectly blends sport and culture to honor and celebrate the 2022 MLS Champions as they prepare for the upcoming playoffs and MLS Cup title defense.
“I grew up near BMO Stadium. I’ve been coming to LAFC games since the first season in 2018. We live in the Ciudad De Campeones. This song is for LA.” said artist and LAFC Original Bobby Castro.
Ciudad De Campeones is available now on all streaming music platforms. The accompanying music video can be seen on **Youtube.com/LAFC** and in the LAFC room on **MLS Season Pass** on Apple TV.
