LAFC has acquired forward Armindo Sieb from German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich on a permanent transfer through the 2028-2029 season with a club option through 2029-2030. Sieb will occupy an international roster slot and will be added to the roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.
“Armindo is an exciting young player whose technical ability, pace, and attacking prowess will add another dimension to our attack,” said LAFC President of Soccer Operations John Thorrington. “He has already gained valuable experience at a young age in one of the world’s top footballing environments and has consistently demonstrated the qualities we value in our players. We are excited to welcome Armindo to Los Angeles and believe he will play an important role in our pursuit of championships.”
Sieb, 23, joins LAFC after spending the last two seasons on loan with Bundesliga side 1. FSV Mainz 05 from FC Bayern Munich. During his time with Mainz, he made 62 appearances across all competitions, including 49 appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring five goals and adding three assists.
Prior to joining Mainz, Sieb returned to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024 after the club exercised its buy-back option following his standout two-year spell with 2. Bundesliga club SpVgg Greuther Fürth. He was then loaned to Mainz for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. During his two seasons with Greuther Fürth, Sieb made 66 appearances across all competitions, recording 17 goals and four assists. In 2023-24, he enjoyed a breakout campaign, contributing 12 goals and three assists in 33 league appearances.
A product of several youth academies, including SG Motor Halle, RB Leipzig, and TSG Hoffenheim, Sieb eventually joined Bayern’s academy in 2020. He went on to make 45 appearances for Bayern Munich II, tallying 12 goals and six assists, while also making his senior team debut in the DFB-Pokal during the 2021-22 season. At 17 years and 241 days old, Sieb became the third-youngest Bayern player to feature in the DFB-Pokal, behind only Jamal Musiala (17 years, 232 days) and David Alaba (17 years, 231 days).
Internationally, Sieb has represented Germany at the U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels, making more than 40 appearances across all youth national team competitions.
