LAFC snapped its three-game losing streak after beating Real Salt Lake 2-0 on Sunday, Sept. 4. The Black & Gold will now travel back to Texas and face FC Dallas on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.

The Club is 19-7-3 on the season and has only lost one home game in all of 2022, and faces FC Dallas looking to secure its place as the top seed in the Western Conference.

The Black & Gold still remain tied atop the Supporters’ Shield standings with the Philadelphia Union at 60 points, but LAFC currently own the tiebreaker with total number of wins per match.

FC Dallas currently sit in third place in the Western Conference standings with 46 points through 30 games played.

FC DALLAS IN-DEPTH

Led by head coach Nico Estévez, FC Dallas are in the midst of a battle for positioning for a playoff spot in the Western Conference after missing the playoffs in 2021. Dallas have lost just once in their last six MLS matches (3-1-2) but have lost their last three matches vs LAFC.

Forward and Designated Player Jesús Ferreira is the current scoring leader on the team with 16 goals in 29 games. Ferreira, who is the fourth highest scorer in all of MLS, is just two goals away from the club’s regular season record of 18. Winger Paul Arriola is right behind Ferreira with nine goals through 29 games played.

LAFC WILL WIN IF

They can put the previous road trip behind them and play their game in Dallas. Prior to the last win at home, the Club lost three-straight games on the road and were not able to finish opportunities. Cristian Arango and LAFC forwards will need to be clinical in front of the net to be able to walk away with all three points. Arango has now scored in three straight matches and has 15 goals scored on the year.

FC DALLAS CAN WIN IF

Jesús Ferreira is not contained. Ferreira has scored four goals in his last five games and is hoping to make his case for the league’s MVP. Regardless, FC Dallas is capable of taking advantage of opportunities after having scored three goals in three minutes against Minnesota United in Week 29 of the MLS season. Dallas will most likely come out with a 4-3-3 lineup.
