LAFC dropped its second-straight game with a 4-1 loss against Austin FC on Friday, Aug. 26. The Black & Gold will now have a short turnaround and hope to get back on track when they travel back to Texas to face the Houston Dynamo Aug. 31 at PNC Stadium.
This is the second time in 2022 that LAFC has lost two games in a row, and just the ninth time in Club history that LAFC has lost 2 straight games.
The Black & Gold still remain atop the Supporters’ Shield standings with 57 points, but the Philadelphia Union are now within three points of the league leaders with 54 points with seven games to go.
The Houston Dynamo currently sit in last place in the Western Conference standings with 26 points through 27 games played.

DYNAMO IN-DEPTH
Led by head coach Paulo Nagamura, the Dynamo have struggled throughout the majority of the year to get wins. The Dynamo have just one win in their last 11 tries and have won seven overall games (7-15-5).
Houston has scored 33 goals on the season from nine different goal scorers, and Designated Player Sebastián Ferreira and Darwin Quintero have combined for 16 of the team’s total goals.
Designated Players Teenage Hadebe and Mexican National Team star Héctor Herrera, who missed their last match due to injury, will most likely play against LAFC, giving the Dynamo a boost.
LAFC WILL WIN IF
They can put the last two games behind them. They have scored just three goals in three games after erupting for nine goals in the previous two games. In the midst of the loss, Cristian Arango was able to score No. 13 on the season and remains the team’s biggest goal-scoring threat. The Black & Gold will need to control the tempo in a very humid Houston and make sure they get back to finding ways to finish goal-scoring opportunities.
DYNAMO CAN WIN IF
Sebastián Ferreira has his way on the field. Ferreira has scored in two of the last three games for the Dynamo and remains a threat any time he on the field. The Dynamo will come in either a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 and will look to attack and catch LAFC off balance.
