The Los Angeles Football Club remained unbeaten in MLS play in 2023 following a 0-0 tie Saturday night in Colorado with the Rapids. A difficult and hard-fought game pushed LAFC’s record to 3-0-2 (11 points) and the Black & Gold now sits in third place in the Western Conference. LAFC is one of just three MLS teams without a loss this season.

LAFC goalkeeper John McCarthy recorded his third shutout in MLS action and his fourth overall this season, facing 14 Colorado shots.

NEWS & NOTES 

  • LAFC is one of three teams, along with Minnesota United and FC Cincinnati that is yet to lose a game in MLS this season. 
  • This is the fourth time in LAFC’s six seasons in MLS that the Club is unbeaten in its opening five games of the season. 
  • LAFC has allowed just three goals in MLS play this season, tied for second fewest in the league.

LAFC is back in action Wednesday, April 5 when the Club travels to Vancouver to face the Whitecaps in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinals. That game kicks off at BC Place at 7 p.m. PT and will be televised on FS1 and TUDN (Spanish).
