The Los Angeles Football Club tied Minnesota United 1-1 Saturday night at Allianz Field in St. Paul, MN. Carlos Vela put the Black & Gold ahead in the 21st minute after Stipe Biuk played a ball ahead of the Minnesota defense. Three minutes later, Emmanuel Reynoso would tie the match for Minnesota, and neither team could find the go-ahead goal.

It was the eighth MLS goal this season for Vela and marked the first in 2021 that he has scored in back-to-back games.

LAFC is now 10-6-7 (W-L-T) (37 points) and sits in second place in the Western Conference after completing the busiest opening to a season in MLS history. LAFC played 33 games between Feb. 15 – July 15 in all competitions, including MLS, Concacaf Champions League, and U.S. Open Cup. The Black & Gold now take a break in their season to prepare for the upcoming Leagues Cup, a monumental new competition that features all 29 MLS clubs and 18 Liga MX teams competing in a World Cup-style tournament that will run from July 21 – Aug. 19.
