The Los Angeles Football Club lost 2-1 to the Galaxy Saturday night before an MLS record crowd of 82,110 fans at Rose Bowl Stadium.
Ilie Sánchez tied the match for LAFC on a header in the 57th minute after Tyler Boyd gave the Galaxy a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. Riqui Puig’s goal in the 73rd minute would prove to be the game-winner as the Galaxy held on for the 2-1 win in the 20th edition (across all competitions) of the L.A. rivalry.
LAFC is now 9-6-5 on the season for 32 points and remains in second place in the Western Conference.

LAFC returns to action Saturday, July 8 when they host the San Jose Earthquakes at BMO Stadium. That match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, 710 AM ESPN Los Angeles and 980 AM La Mera Mera (ESP).
