The LAFC Academy is hosting some of the best sides from MLS and Mexico in a friendly tournament Aug. 25-27 on the UCLA campus.
Teams competing in the tournament include MLS’s Atlanta United FC Academy, Sporting Kansas City Academy, Real Salt Lake (Arizona), as well as Atlas and Tigres Academies of Liga MX. Also featuring in the friendlies are the DeAnza Force (Saratoga, CA) and Rebels Soccer Club (Chula Vista, CA) Development Academies.
The preseason tournament is coming off the heals of an impressive LAFC Academy showing at the Scotiabank Concacaf U-13 Champions League in Toluca, Mexico, where the Academy took the second spot group play before going on to secure LAFC’s first international trophy, beating Juniors Tampico of Mexico 2 – 0 in the final on Wednesday.
