LAFC Just Three Wins Away From The MLS Cup

2019 MLS Playoff Bracket Round 1 191009 IMG

After completing the most dominant regular season in Major League Soccer history, the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is now just three wins at Banc of California Stadium away from winning the MLS Cup.

The Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs begin for LAFC with a Western Conference Semifinal match on Thursday, October 24 at Banc of California Stadium against the winner of the Minnesota United vs. Galaxy match. The show begins at 7:00 pm PT on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, ESPN 710 AM, and 980 AM ‘La Mera Mera.’

This season, all MLS Playoff matches are a one-game knock out with winners advancing to the next round.

The other potential Playoff dates for LAFC are:

  • Game 2 - Western Conference Final
    • Tuesday, October 29
    • Banc of California Stadium
    • Time – TBD
  • Game 3 - 2019 MLS Cup
    • Sunday, Nov. 10
    • Banc of California Stadium
    • Time – 12 pm PT

After clinching the 2019 Supporters’ Shield last month, LAFC secured the top spot in the MLS standings, as well as home field advantage and a first-round bye in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs. LAFC broke the all-time points record in one season, finishing the year with 72 points (21-4-9 record).

Following the FIFA international window, the postseason will begin with six Round One matches taking place on October 19-20. Twelve of the fourteen teams that clinched a postseason berth will compete in the first round, with LAFC and New York City FC automatically advancing to the Conference Semifinals.

A week later, the Conference Semifinal matches will be played on October 23-24. LAFC will host the winner of Minnesota and the Galaxy in the last match of the round on Thursday night.

The Conference Finals are scheduled for October 29 (West) and October 30 (East), while MLS Cup will take place for Sunday, November 10. All postseason matches, including MLS Cup, will be hosted at the home venue of the team with the best regular season record.
