The LAFC Foundation furthers our club’s mission of uniting the world’s city through the world’s game, bringing joy to people, and being a force for good in our community by supporting critical programs and bringing the indomitable Black & Gold spirit wherever we go. By supporting the programming and infrastructure that allow young people to access our favorite game, we provide not only fun and physical exercise – but also critical mentorship and a pathway to lifelong success beyond the pitch.

LA Active Sports Youth Soccer League
In partnership with BMO, we collaborated with LA Active Sports to host their youth soccer tournament in July. Teams from local schools gathered for a weekend of competitive play and sportsmanship, where players showcased their skills. Off the field, families and fans enjoyed a festive atmosphere with food, fun, and community spirit. Check out the recap here!
Bresee’s Youth Leadership Program Career Panel
To celebrate the start of Bresee’s 2024 Youth Leadership Program (YLP), we invited the youth leaders to our home match on July 30. Before kickoff, we hosted a career panel with a diverse group of LAFC professionals, who offered guidance and inspiration to the young leaders. Panelists shared their career journeys and key advice for entering the sports world. YLP leaders had the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights into different professions. The panelists emphasized the importance of pursuing passions, continuous learning, and self-confidence. After the panel, the YLP leaders got to enjoy watching our LAFC team face off against the Vancouver Whitecaps!
Bresee’s Back to School Backpack Drive
On August 8th, we had the privilege of supporting the Bresee Foundation in hosting their annual Backpack Drive. The event equips local youth with essential school supplies for the upcoming academic year. This year, Bresee saw an enthusiastic turnout from community members, volunteers, and partners.
Volunteers dedicated their time to sorting and packing all donated items, ensuring that each backpack was well-stocked and ready for distribution. Students and families received backpacks, and many expressed immense gratitude for the support. Pacsun also offered a shopping spree for every student involved, which allowed the students to take at least 2-3 new clothing items. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed and volunteered to make this event a resounding success and ensure a bright start to the school year for our local youth.
