MLS Cup Champion Christian Torres will ride on Rose Bowl Stadium’s 100th Centennial Celebration float in the 134th Rose Parade® on Monday, Jan. 2. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. PT, Torres will ride alongside Galaxy midfielder Mark Delgado on the Rose Bowl Stadium’s centennial float to help build excitement for the 2023 MLS Regular Season opener featuring the 2022 MLS Cup Champions, LAFC as they face the LA Galaxy at Rose Bowl Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 25 (6:30 p.m. PT; Apple).
The 2023 MLS Regular Season opener at Rose Bowl Stadium is a rematch of the 2022 Western Conference Semifinal that saw LAFC advance with a 3-2 win before going on to capture the Club’s first MLS Cup Championship.
A Southern California native from Fontana, Torres was one of the first LAFC Homegrown Academy players to sign with the first team (2020) and became the youngest player in LAFC history to start a game at 16 years, 138 days when he made his MLS debut on Oct. 14, 2020. He became the fifth youngest player to score a goal in MLS history when he found the back of the net on Oct. 18, 2020.
Following the Rose Parade on Monday, Jan. 2, Penn State University will face off against the University of Utah in the 109th Rose Bowl Game ® (2:00 p.m. PT; ESPN) at the Rose Bowl Stadium.
