This Earth Day, LAFC is doing its part.
On Sunday, the Club will host a beach cleanup at Topanga Beach in Malibu from 10am to 1pm. Partnering with Surfrider Foundation, MLS, and the LA community, LAFC is encouraging fans to participate in the cleanup and then stay for a mini beach-soccer match afterwards. Address details are below:
The clean up is part of MLS Works Greener Goals initiative.
Greener Goals is intended to raise awareness for environmental issues, while looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. MLS teams will be participating by hosting events to improve their local communities.
In addition to the LAFC's beach clean up, the Club will join the rest of the League in wearing special adidas eco-friendly kits on Saturday. The collaboration between MLS, adidas, and Parley is meant to call attention to the ways in which we threaten our oceans and planet. Each adidas x Parley kit is made from plastic bottles pulled from the ocean and upcycled by Parley ocean clean-up operations.
