LAFC announced today that the Club will host the majority of fans and supporters in vaccinated-only zones and sections at Banc of California Stadium for the team’s upcoming matches on May 22 vs. Colorado and May 29 vs. New York City FC.
Over 50 percent of the stadium will be dedicated to vaccinated-only zones and sections, where fans can cheer shoulder to shoulder and not require social distancing in seats or in the concourses, although face masks are still required per public health guidelines.
With L.A. County now moving into the Yellow Tier of the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy due to lower COVID-19 positivity rates and increased vaccinations, expanding vaccinated-only sections within the North End and vaccinated-only zones on the East Side and South End of the Banc allows for more members and guests to attend upcoming matches.
“We have heard from our members and supporters loud and clear,” LAFC Co-President and CBO Larry Freedman said. “Our fans want to get back to the Banc, and we want to quickly and safely deliver that experience to as many of them as possible. By expanding vaccinated-only areas of the stadium, we are able to provide the increased access that we know our fans are looking for, in accordance with the current state and L.A. County guidelines.”
Under the current Yellow Tier designation, the overall capacity at Banc of California is limited to 67 percent.
Fans sitting in vaccinated-only zones are required to show vaccine verification, including any photo identification and proof of vaccination through an official vaccination card, digital record of an official vaccination card, or other documentation from a healthcare provider.
Children from 2 to 15 years of age will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test from a PCR test taken not more than three days before the match or an antigen test taken not more than one day before the match.
LAFC has partnered with Total Testing Solutions for fast, pre-registered vaccine verification and easy entry into the stadium. LAFC has also partnered with LAVA’s Realtime Membership Platform to issue digital NFC passes, or vaccine credential, that provide fast, contactless game-day access.

Fans who are not fully vaccinated will have the option of sitting in socially distanced sections separated from the vaccinated-only zones, subject to availability.
Ticket sales for the May 22 match vs. Colorado began Thursday, May 13 with priority given to LAFC season ticket members. Tickets for the May 29 match vs. NYCFC will go on sale at a later date.
